Local activities In and around Port St Lucie

Stuck for something to do?  Fancy some outdoor activities?  - Here are a few suggestions!

Airboat Tours

We love Airboat tours, and have enjoyed several tours of the Everglades... but we found that they are even better here on the St Lucie River!

We highly recommend Southern Style Airboat Tours with Captain Rick. His tours are suitable for young and old, and he has great knowledge of the area and the wildlife.

Beaches and Parks

So many to choose from, but here are a few recommendations:

Jensen Beach Park

Our favourite for sunrise walks and watching pelicans skim across the water on their morning fishing flights

This public access beach is officially called Jensen Sea Turtle Beach but locals refer to it is as Jensen Beach. Locals and visitors alike flock to the wide sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean on Hutchinson Island. The Sand Dune Café is located here and is open 7 Days a Week. Several picnic pavilions as well as volleyball courts, bathrooms and showers make this a complete all-ages park. 4191 NE Ocean Blvd. Jensen BeachFL 34957  https://discovermartin.com/directory/jensen-beach/

Turtle Walks: Jensen Beach is a favorite nesting place for loggerhead sea turtles, green turtles, and leatherback sea turtles. Every year from late spring til mid summer the turtles return to the beaches where they were born to lay their eggs at night. The eggs begin hatching in late summer. Call 772-334-3444 for turtle walk days and times during June and July.

Reservations are required.

Dubois Park - Jupiter

About 30 mins drive from Port St Lucie, but worth it!

Beach, lagoon, ocean, fishing, wading, snorkelling, picnicking, you name it - Dubois is the place for it. No concessions, and no alcohol permitted in the park, but a beautiful place for a family outing. The park winds along beside the Jupiter inlet. There is a lagoon to the right as you walk to the ocean that is perfect for small children. Plenty of grills and picnic spots, and plenty of places to find shade. Great place to spend the day.
