Port St Lucie and the surrounding area

St Lucie County and Port St Lucie sits on the south eastern coast of Florida. The area is known as the Treasure Coast, due to the large amount of treasure that has and continues to be found on and off the local coastlines. Much of the treasure stems from Spanish ships which were caught in storms, beached on reefs and sandbanks. These ships were carrying large amounts of gold and other wares, much of which has never been found.

Port St Lucie today is the 6th biggest city in Florida and has been a mecca for people looking for a Short term rental (STR), many coming from the north to escape the winters permanently, or just for the winter months. Port St Lucie and St Lucie County have a wealth of attractions from the St Lucie River with its ocean access to the St Lucie Mets stadium, a minor league baseball team and for a while, the spring training ground for the New York Mets. Just beside the st Lucie River and just off Port st Lucie Boulevard are the St Lucie Botanical Gardens.  Getting back to the St Lucie River there are a number of great boat ramps from Veterans Memorial parkway ramp (Near to Lullaby and Bordeaux) and the much larger, and newer C24 Canal boat ramp (near to Kern Road)

Fort Pierce is to the north, with its excellent farmers market, wonderful inlet with great fishing and more. Jensen Beach and Stuart to the south  boast some great restaurants and entertainment options, as well as historic buildings and more, so there there is plenty up and down the coast to go and explore, if you want a coastal drive. Head east, not too far now, and first you will come across the Indian River Lagoon, the intercoastal waterway (there is the A1A on hutchinson Island, but for a better coastal view, take the S Indian River road from Ft Pierce to Jensen Beach, Simply stunning on those beautiful Florida days). Beyond this, take the Jensen Beach Causeway and you will come to the Atlantic beaches, or personal favorite is Jensen Beach Park, handily, right at the end of the causeway.

When we first went to Port St Lucie, we knew we had found a gem, it was then that we decided to create our little treasure on this special coast.
