Florida Beaches

Florida beaches are well known and Port St Lucie has a couple to be proud of.

Jensen Beach Winter

Winter – 17th Feb 2016 not bad eh!

Jensen Beach is just off Hutchinson Island. The causeway will take you over there and Jensen Beach park has parking, amenities and showers for your use. Walk through and down onto Jensen Beach itself and you will find miles upon miles of quiet unspoilt beach with dunes on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other.

Up the coast is Walton Rocks Beach, no less beautiful and it is also dog friendly, so if you wish to take the puppies to the beach, here is a good place to go.

To the south is Stuart beach, also large and unspoilt and also with parking and amenities just like Jensen Beach. Head down the US1 to Stuart and off to the left, Or use the A1A which, in St Lucie and Martin County, runs from Fort Pierce past numerous gorgeous beaches to Stuart.

In truth, they are just one long beach, and as far as we know, you can walk from Stuart to Walton Rocks – and probably back again without impediment, all the way to Ft Pierce, a shade over 18 miles as the Pelican Flies 😉

Wildlife you will find on the and around the beaches are often those synonymous with Florida, Pelicans, Eagrets, Herons, Black Skimmers and lots more will be found in and around the water. Also keep an eye out for eagles of different types. In the water, of course there are lots of fish, some small ones you may find will come and join you while wading. Others, a bit larger will be Dolphins and Turtles, in the sea.
