What to expect from our Florida Vacation Home

When you visit our vacation home in Port St Lucie, Florida, if you have not rented a home before, you will probably be wondering what to expect – we were the first time we rented!

From the outside you will find our vacation home to be on a normal Florida street in a normal Florida community of normal Floridian people. The house is situated in a quiet but convenient area close to St. Lucie Medical Center.

The cul-de-sac location means little passing traffic, and any traffic is slow and predominantly consists of residents on the same street. The house is not in a gated community, you get the full Florida feel of living locally, and we like it that way.

The house itself is a three bedroom, two bathroom property with many updates including new AC, kitchen cabinets, appliances and decor at the end of 2015 / beginning of 2016. The rooms are tiled throughout and spaces available are as follows:

Living room – Set out with a sumptuous leather sofa, matching tables and lamps, various artworks, a lovely place to relax, read a book, chat a while etc. Ceiling fan and table lamps.

Dining Room – Set for 6 people, modern stylish design with glass topped table, and metal framed chairs with comfortable cushioned seats.

Den / Family Room – Or ‘Indoor Entertainment Suite’ 😉 Leather Sofa, large Smart TV and audio system, side tables and lamp. Sliding doors lead to the lanai / new pool area. Ceiling fan with lights and table lamp

Kitchen – fully equipped and recently updated with modern kitchen cabinets, Bosch and Maytag appliances – American Side by Side Fridge Freezer, Range, Microwave (GE), Dishwasher. Double sink with filtered water and macerator / disposal, Toaster, Kettle and Coffee Maker. All worktops are ceramic tile, and there is ample kitchen storage. Cutlery and crockery to suit 6+. A good selection of pots, pans and dishes, as well as kitchen tools.


Master bedroom – Queen bed, Bedside lamps and ceiling fan, Smart TV, Hulu Subscription, remodelled En Suite bathroom with 6ft walk-in shower, new vanity and WC.

2nd Bedroom – Queen bed, easy access to the family bathroom. Bedside lamps and ceiling fan

3rd Bedroom – Twin beds, easy access to the family bathroom. Bedside lamp and ceiling fan

Family Bathroom – with full bath and shower over, fully remodelled including new bath, new vanity, and WC.

All bedrooms have high quality mattresses and beds to ensure comfort, blinds to the windows, radio alarms (with aux input), ceiling fans, and wall closets for your clothes.

Quality bed linen and towels are provided.

A folding wooden crib is supplied, you will need your own bedding. A Graco high chair is available too – suitable for ages up to 3 years – booster seat for chair too.

Washer / Dryer – top loading washer, front loading dryer.

Internet Access – High speed and available for guest use.

Audio – a bluetooth rechargeable sound bar is available. this also takes USB, TF card (microSD) and Aux inputs.


To the front:

The property is attractive and welcoming, with planted borders and subtle landscaping started in 2015 and added to in 2016. Reduced brightness lighting at night and PIR activated brighter lights welcome you to the property in the night time. Driveway for two cars, Additional parking to the side of the drive.

To the rear:

The property has a large covered and screened porch area – looking southwest, with further dining for 6 consisting of a large glass table with 6 comfortable chairs as wells an outdoor rattan 2 seater love seat. There is also a gas grill (4 burner plus side) and patio lighting for evening entertaining as well as solar lighting in the pool area and in pool lighting too.

In ground Fun play pool (24 x 14) to the rear, with steps , seat and some special features. Built in 2015/16, this is fully screened with an included Child Safety Barrier for safety reasons, Kooldeck keeps the surface nice in the summer heat.

The large garden is fenced for security and privacy, with further low level automatic night time lighting with PIR activated brighter lighting. Trees border much of the perimeter to the rear giving that secluded feeling. The property is not backed onto by any other properties.

Gardens and pool are both professionally maintained.

Though not strictly necessary, the property features an alarm which you can use during your stay should you wish to.
